I was told by my local shop that i need a new starter , they said it would be 400 dollars , that seems high to me , is this thing that hard to change, most starters are two bolts and out, can i have some feed back on this please .

Ok I got a starter and put it in myself, 114 dollars for the starter, but it sounds horrible, took it back out and the teeth on the starter are all tore up, before anyone replies, it was installed correctly, I'm guessing the rebuilt starter was bad .

You will have to be careful that the teeth on the flywheel ring gear aren't torn up as well?
